Terms for the Advanced Gastroenterology Center patient text message program: appointment reminders, scheduling, procedure preparation, and post-procedure follow-up.
What is the SMS program?
AGC may send SMS text messages to patients who have consented to receive appointment-related texts. These may include appointment reminders, confirmations, scheduling updates, rescheduling instructions, procedure preparation instructions (such as diet and bowel-prep reminders), and a follow-up check-in after a procedure.
How do I consent to receive text messages?
You consent by providing your mobile number to Advanced Gastroenterology Center — on the patient intake form, when scheduling an appointment, or when communicating with our office — and agreeing to receive appointment, scheduling, procedure preparation, and post-procedure follow-up texts. Consent is voluntary and is not required to receive medical care. After you opt in, we send a text confirming your enrollment.
What types of messages will I receive?
Messages about upcoming appointments, confirmations, office scheduling updates, preparation instructions before procedures (such as when to start a clear-liquid diet or bowel prep), a follow-up check-in the day after a procedure, and instructions to contact the office if you need to reschedule. Messages may mention the type of appointment or procedure, but do not include test results or diagnoses. These messages are never used for marketing or promotional purposes.
How often will I receive messages?
Message frequency varies with your appointments — typically 2 to 6 messages per appointment, depending on the type of visit or procedure (procedures such as colonoscopy include more preparation reminders).
How do I opt out or get help?
Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time; you will receive no further messages unless you opt in again. Reply HELP for help, or call our office at (908) 688-8080. Message and data rates may apply.
How is my information protected?
Your mobile phone number and SMS consent information will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
