Consent & Disclosures
How patients opt in to our text messages
Advanced Gastroenterology Center (AGC) sends appointment reminder and scheduling text messages only to patients who have asked to receive them. Consent is collected in the two ways below, recorded in our scheduling system, and is never required as a condition of treatment.
How patients give consent
Patient intake & registration form
Patients write their mobile number and check a dedicated, optional consent box on our intake form. The box is unchecked by default and kept separate from any treatment consent. That consent section is shown below.
When scheduling by phone or in person
When a patient schedules by phone or in person, staff read the SMS disclosure and record the patient’s consent in AGC’s scheduling system before any texts are sent.
